We are hoping to grow our family through open adoption. We have been together nearly 8 years and share many of the same interests- biking, hiking, travel and photography, to name a few. We support each other to reach individual and common goals, maintain clear communication and most of all we enjoy spending time together. We’re a team in planning weekend/international trips, weekly meal plans, dog responsibilities, house projects, errands - you know… all the stuff. We love getting together with friends and family.
We came to adoption not only because of life circumstances but also because we believe in the value of open adoption. Ben grew up with adopted siblings and saw firsthand how love and connection can thrive in families formed in different ways.
Both our families live in the area so we are in touch and get together with them often. Ben and his Dad put together an impressive woodworking shop where together they built a garden shed, library shelving and a mudroom area for our house. Robin and her Mom are often working together in the garden. We‘ve lived here for over 7 years and love the neighborhood. It’s quiet with tall evergreen trees and full of families with young kids. Our home has a large backyard, big sunny deck and lots of room for the dogs to run around. We love to entertain family and friends and often host holidays. It’s a short drive to multiple grocery stores, plenty of restaurants, the community center and tons of parks. The schools here are well-regarded and close by.
Ben is thoughtful, loving, has a great sense of humor and shows up for friends and family. He raised a daughter (now an adult) who is responsible, fun and interested in learning new things. He’s a natural problem-solver who enjoys learning how things work and loves to deep dive into a topic until he understands it. Ben is steady, organized, reliable and fun!
Robin is curious, hard working, has grit, always up for a challenge, loves reaching for goals, creative and full of energy.
We went to the same middle school but it was years after college that we reconnected in Seattle for a first date. For both of us, the evening was a mix of catching up with an old friend and the start of something special.
We hope you are always open to trying new things, optimistic, empathetic, and kind toward others and the environment. We are here to support and encourage you forever.
We believe it’s important for a child to grow up knowing their story and feeling supported by all the people who love them. Our hope is to build a relationship based on trust, where questions are welcome, answers are shared and everyone is treated with care and understanding.
