Hello! We are a joyful family of four - Kathy, Dave, and our two daughters. Our daughters are the lights of our lives and we are always looking for a new adventure! We strive to cherish our family every day and embrace how blessed we are to have each other in life's journey.
After being married for a few years, we were ready to start having children. Our first daughter came along, and we loved her with our whole hearts. Unfortunately, we struggled to maintain a pregnancy after that. We have always supported adoption, so we completed a home study after a couple of years of intermittent miscarriages. We were then blessed with our amazing second daughter! Our love has only grown with our children, and we decided to maintain our adoption journey. We have so much more love to give and want to welcome at least one more child into our home!
We live in a beautiful farmhouse with lots of room to roam. We have many animals, including cats, dogs, fish, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, and turkeys. Our oldest daughter loves to help collect eggs and feed all the animals.
Our parents live close by, so we spend a lot of our spare time with family in some way. We enjoy spending time at the family cottage many weekends in the summer. There is no shortage of activities, including fishing, boating, and swimming. We also love to go to the zoo, playgrounds, museums, libraries, and anywhere with a pool.
We also have an amazing supportive community around us. We have once a month game nights with local families and their children, playing board games and yard games. We see everyone at weddings, church, community activities, and 4H meetings.
Kathy describes Dave as a friendly, loyal, honest, funny and caring individual. He is always willing to help others and lend a hand to family and friends. We always joke together that a stop at a gas station can take hours depending on who is also there! He can find common ground topics with anyone and everyone.
Dave describes Kathy as kind, caring, passionate, intelligent, and spirited. She loves her family, friends, and animals. She enjoys taking our daughters on adventures and exploring the world around us.
We knew each other in middle/high school, but we didn't start dating until Kathy was in college. We both worked at the same dairy farm and started dating shortly after. We have been married for over 10 years and still love each other dearly.
As our children grow, we've learned so much about teaching lessons. Our number one advice to our children is to always be kind. It costs nothing to be kind, but it can always make someone's day better. Cherish family and friends, because you never know the turns life will take.
We saw a quote once that said “life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but about learning to dance in the rain”. In other words, we encourage our children to see the silver lining to every situation. It may not be apparent until much later, but there is always a reason for things to happen.
Lastly, we celebrate adventure whenever possible. There is so much in this world to enjoy and discover. It's important to take time to embrace the beauty of the world around us. “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
We would love to welcome both you and your child(ren) into our lives. We completely support the connection that your child has with you, and we see great value in welcoming you into our life journey. We support whatever level of connection you would like to have with your child(ren).
