All About Erick & Abbe

We are a hard-working, fun-loving duo who loves to try new things and go on adventures. We enjoy traveling but also love hanging out at home with our dogs, Poppy and Cookie. Some of our favorite things to do together are cooking/baking, golfing, visiting museums, going on hikes with the dogs, and attending sporting events.

We are lucky to have an amazing support system around us. If we ever need anything we have people we can call. In turn, we always try to be there for our friends and family if they ever need anything from us.

For work, Abbe helps make sure the country has a plan to provide reliable, low-cost electricity for the next several decades. She has been at the same company for 17 years. Erick works for a local hospital system and helps design and install IT systems for medical buildings. We both work from home and have a lot of flexibility with our schedules.

Why Adoption?

We would love to be parents as well as help someone in a difficult situation. We have a very happy home and want nothing more than to share it with a child. We are excited about embarking on this journey and are confident we will be fantastic parents. We believe we can nurture a relationship not only with a child, but also with a child's birth family.

Family & Home

We live in a 1950’s ranch house on a quiet street in a great community with excellent schools. Our dogs, Poppy and Cookie, are super sweet and very entertaining. Poppy loves to play chase and Cookie loves to think of clever ways to steal whatever toy Poppy is playing with.

We have a fenced-in yard and friendly neighbors. The elementary school is walking distance from our home. We have family that lives nearby and we also have family in other cities. We have good relationships with our extended families and see them as often as possible. We also have some very close friends whom we consider to be our family as well.

How others describe me

Erick is very fun and extremely smart. He is great at making new friends and always makes everyone in the room feel at ease. He is also extremely dependable and will show up for his friends and family whenever they need him.

Abbe is the nicest person ever and has a great sense of humor. She loves trying new things and is always looking out for others. She is incredibly loyal and a great listener.

How We Met

We met online in September 2021. Our first date was at a coffee shop. We had both just moved to the city and were looking to meet more people. We really liked each other, but didn’t start officially dating until we got our dogs together at a dog park to see if they got along. Poppy and Cookie quickly became best friends and the rest is history!

Advice to Future Child

We want you to know that you will grow up in a very loving, stable family whose goal is to provide everything you need to be your very best self. We will encourage any kind of relationship with your biological family that helps accomplish this goal.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We are open to any kind of arrangement that is in the best interest of the child. We want the child to be able to embrace all their identities and heritage.
