We are Laura and George, and family has always been at the heart of who we are. Laura grew up in Colorado with her loving parents and older brother and has always known she wanted to be a teacher. Nineteen years later, she is still passionate about teaching and also leads professional development and sponsors student council at her school. She loves spending time with her family, especially her twin teenage nephews who live nearby. George grew up in a military family, born in Germany before moving to Ohio and eventually Colorado. In high school, he found his love for music, which led him to become a music teacher. For the past 15 years, he has loved teaching elementary music and leading fun extracurriculars like choir, small ensembles, and even a D&D club. Outside of school, he enjoys painting, cooking, baking, and playing tabletop games with friends. Music has been a lifelong passion for both of us, but more than anything, we have always dreamed of becoming parents. We are so excited to grow our family through adoption and to share our love, laughter, and creativity with a child.
From the early days of our relationship, we often talked about our dreams for the future. One of the dreams that kept coming up was the desire to have a family. When we received a diagnosis of infertility, it did not stop our dream. We were drawn to the idea of providing a loving, supportive home to a child and expanding our family in a way that felt deeply meaningful to us.
We live in a Denver suburb that has all the charm of a small town with caring neighbors and family friendly activities. Our home has 3 bedrooms and a loft upstairs where we envision lots of time playing and reading books. One of the bedrooms will be a nursery and we have made preparations such as adding wallpaper and gathering lots of books for the bookshelf. We spend most of our time in our family room and kitchen and on our deck out back playing games or having dinner. We are looking forward to cooking as a family of three and watching sunsets together! Our backyard includes a walkout basement and overlooks a scenic walking trail with lots of trees and wildlife including deer and wild turkeys! Our neighborhood is safe and full of young families with kids and our community is diverse and celebrates many holidays from around the world. Our home is on a safe cul-de-sac where we envision playing catch, learning to ride a bike, and spending warm evenings with friends and family. In addition, we have a neighborhood playground within walking distance.
As told by George: Laura is a wonderful, funny, loving, kind person. She makes me feel loved and appreciated every day and is always there for those she loves. She is talented and sweet while also being brave, focused on her goals, and hard working. Just being with Laura makes me smile. I know she will be a great mother who will always lovingly support our child.
As told by Laura: George is patient, loving, kind hearted, and funny. He makes me laugh every day. He has a passion for cooking and loves trying new recipes and creating in our kitchen. He loves backing to share with loved ones to celebrate birthdays, holidays, or just because. George is a patient person and has so much to offer our child. I cannot wait to see him become a father and to celebrate and encourage whoever our child wants to be.
Our love story began by swiping right on a dating app. We spent time getting to know one another and after a few dates, we knew we had something special. We took an end of summer trip to the Western Slope where we talked about our hopes and dreams for the future, and decided we were ready to take our relationship to the next level. Soon after, we purchased a new house nearby, knowing we would spend the rest of our lives together. A few months later, George proposed to Laura at her choir practice surrounded by friends and family. We had an intimate backyard wedding with our closest friends and family. We dreamed of starting a family soon after but our path led us in a different direction.
Always remember that you are deeply loved just as you are. Life won’t always be easy, but you will never face it alone—we’ll be right beside you to listen, guide, and cheer you on. Be brave in trying new things, even if you don’t succeed right away, because mistakes are part of learning and growing. Trust that you are strong enough, loved enough, and supported enough to handle whatever comes your way. Most of all, be yourself, be kind, and don’t be afraid to dream big.
We welcome any degree of openness in our relationship that you are prepared for. We promise to respect and love you. We promise to honor your child’s birth culture and story. We promise to love your child unconditionally. We promise to create a safe, loving, warm, and accepting home for your child to grow up in. We promise to fill our home with love, laughter, and music. We promise to provide for your child and ensure all of their needs are met. As our family grows, your child will always know that adoption was a choice made with indescribable love.
