All About Jeffrey & Amy

Hello! We are excited to become first-time parents through adoption! Together, we enjoy going for bike rides, taking our dog for walks and playing games. We are honored to be considered by you!

We were both born and raised in southern California, and live there now. We are lucky enough to live close to both of our families and spend a lot of time with our loved ones. We are also blessed to have a very fun and adventurous group of friends, many of whom are starting families of their own. We are looking forward to raising our child surrounded by love from the people who are most important to us. Some of our favorite activities are spending time both on the water and in the mountains. In the summertime, we spend a lot of time on the boat at our family’s lake house. In the winter, we enjoy skiing and snowboarding. We are looking forward to sharing a life full of faith, family and adventure with our child!

Why Adoption?

We were married in 2019 and have had infertility issues ever since. Starting a family is of utmost importance to us. We are so blessed to be given the opportunity to become first-time parents through adoption!

Family & Home

We own an inviting, three bedroom home in a family-friendly neighborhood. We have two open bedrooms that are ready and waiting for our future family. We will decorate our nursery once we know more about the child we'll be blessed to adopt. We live within a few blocks from a nature preserve and several parks. Most afternoons, we take our dog, Kona, for a walk on one of the trails located nearby our house. We are surrounded by wonderful schools, and oftentimes hear the neighborhood kids playing on our driveway after school. When a child joins our home, we are looking forward to fun activities such as: discovering new parks, riding scooters, building forts and playing games. We are lucky enough to have both of our extended families live within thirty minutes of us and spend a lot of time with them!

Our family is very important to us, and we are very lucky to live close to both sides of our family. Amy’s parents live 10 minutes away, and Jeff’s are only 30 minutes away. We spend a lot of time with family, whether it be for Sunday night dinner, an afternoon of golf or a weekend trip. We also have a larger extended family that all live in southern California. We get together as often as we can, and we cherish the time we spend together.

Both of our families are very supportive and excited for our adoption. Most of our siblings also live close by, and we are looking forward to raising our future child with our nieces and nephews. On Amy’s side, this will be the first grandchild. Jeff’s sisters are just starting their families, our first nephew was born in March and we have another on the way and due in August. We are excited to share our family traditions with our future child, and are also looking forward to creating new traditions as our family grows. We are looking to raise our child with their cousins and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

How others describe me

Jeff is a hard-working and dedicated family man who makes the best of any situation. Jeff works as a Financial Director and enjoys working with numbers and solving problems. In his free time, Jeff enjoys bike riding, snowboarding, wake surfing, golfing and tinkering in the garage. If someone needs anything fixed in their house, Jeff is their guy! Our friends and family are always asking Jeff for assistance with household projects, and he loves jumping into help! Jeff is going to make an amazing dad, and this can already be seen in the way he plays and interacts with our nieces and nephews. Jeff is looking forward to making memories and going on adventures with our child. He is reliable, dependable and dedicated, and I am looking forward to watching him embark on the journey of becoming a father.

Amy is outgoing, loving, and responsible. She makes friends everywhere she goes. Amy is a teacher at a local elementary school and has worked in education for twelve years. Throughout her whole life, Amy has always loved working with children, whether it be playing school with her siblings when she was growing up, babysitting, being a swim coach or teaching. In her free time, Amy enjoys: swimming, reading, working on puzzles, going on walks and spending time with family and friends. Amy is going to make a wonderful mom and I am looking forward to watching her help our children become well-rounded and thoughtful people. She is looking forward to sharing her love of reading and outdoor adventures with our child.

how we met

How We Met

We first met online in 2017. On our first date, we met at a local coffee shop and three hours into getting to know each other, the barista had to come over and let us know they were closing. We were shocked at how much we had in common and how easy it was to get to know each other!

Advice to Future Child

We promise to love your child unconditionally and to raise them in a warm, loving, and family-centered home. We promise to openly talk about their adoption and make sure they know about you. We promise to raise your child in a Christian home and will pray for them on a daily basis. We promise to embrace and foster your child’s interests and strengths and will support them in any extracurricular activities they choose to pursue. We promise to prioritize education and always make sure it is of utmost importance. We will do our best to make sure your child understands the importance of integrity, respect and hard work. We will always treat your child with love and compassion and look forward to creating memories alongside us by enjoying the outdoors, playing games and spending time with family and friends. We are open to letters, pictures, or planned visits, if you are comfortable. We want to thank you for taking the time to read through our profile, and we look forward to getting to know you.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We will always honor and respect our birth mother’s wishes for open adoption. We hope to be able to stay in touch and communicate with our child’s birth mother. We feel it is very important for our child to know where they come from, and we plan to openly discuss their birth parents with them. We hope our child’s birth parents will continue to be a part of their lives, but will navigate this in whatever way the birth parents are comfortable with.
