All About Josh & Coral

Josh was born and raised in a small town in Western Wisconsin and has 2 younger sisters. Josh is an easy going and relaxed guy who loves his family. He attended a local Technical College and has Associates Degrees in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Marketing Management. He likes hunting, fishing, golfing, board games, Karate and going to sporting events. He has been a Black Belt and Karate Instructor for 20 years.

Coral grew up on a small dairy farm in Western Wisconsin with two older brothers. Her parents instilled strong values and compassion. She went to college at UW - Eau Claire and became a registered nurse, and several years later returned to earn her Doctorate of Nursing Practice. She currently works as a Nurse Practitioner at a small clinic in West-Central Wisconsin. Outside of working hours, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking/cooking, golfing, hiking, music, home DIY projects, crochet, and watching/attending baseball and basketball games.

We live near both of our families, are close, and see them regularly. We are lucky to have a great support system with family and friends. We enjoy spending time outside in the nicer months, golfing, fishing, hiking, and taking walks around our beautiful downtown area. Winter brings ice fishing, which Josh loves, and Coral endures. We both love to cook and try new recipes, especially on our outdoor griddle. That thing can make one heck of a breakfast! One of our favorite activities is going to Milwaukee for a Brewer’s game, and finding a great place to eat. We also love to travel, having been to South Padre Island in Texas, Boston, Duluth, Door County, the Grand Canyon, Miami, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Detroit. We are so excited to add a child to our travel experiences in the future, even just going to the zoo or children’s museum.

Why Adoption?

Life threw us a curveball with our original parenthood plan, and has led us to the opportunity of adoption. Throughout our journey, we have come to realize that we don’t need biology to have an awesome kid and become parents. We are truly looking forward to adding a child to our lives, someone we can love, nurture, teach, play with, laugh with, and grow with.

Family & Home

We live in a small, rural neighborhood 10 minutes outside of a city of 70,000+. We have a modest 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home on 1.5 acres of land. There is plenty of yard to grow up in. Our nearby city gives us ample access to walking/biking trails, playgrounds, parks, water activities, sports fields, arts, theater, and live music events. We are close with both of our families, having all immediate family members within an hour of us. Between the two families, there is no shortage of family gatherings, camping, and celebrations.

how we met

How We Met

We met through a dating app over 9 years ago. It is funny to think that we may have otherwise never met, even though we only lived 7 miles away from each other. We clicked quickly, and it was obvious that we shared a lot of the same values, interests, and humor. We ate hoagies at a local cafe on our first date, a rather messy first date food. But, love prevailed, and one year, 2 months, and 6 days later we got married (but who’s counting).

Advice to Future Child

Be yourself. Never forget your self-worth, you are important. Never stop learning and being curious. An active mind and body are a healthy mind and body. You can always come to us in any situation and we will be there to love you and support you.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We are supportive of open adoption to whatever degree the birthmom/family would be comfortable with. We would love for our child to know their history and origin to give them the most answers to the questions they will have as they grow.
