All About Ross & Meghan

Hello!  We are Ross and Meghan, and we live in Minnesota, specifically in the Twin Cities metro area.  We met as college students and got married in 2015. Ross is a civil engineer, while Meghan is a middle school math teacher.  We have two biological sons, ages 6 and 3.

Our older son attends Spanish immersion Kindergarten at the local public school, and our younger son attends preschool. The fantastic public school system has many academic and extracurricular opportunities. We live close to Meghan’s parents; they provide our childcare and are active in our lives.

You can catch us in our backyard swimming pool most of the summer or in the nearby parks, trails, and library year-round. Other family interests include traveling, spending time with friends, being outside (especially at the family cabin), sports, and reading.  We value relationships with others, growing our faith through attending a progressive Catholic Church in Minneapolis, and leading with respect and love for all people.

Why Adoption?

We’ve been blessed with biological children who bring so much joy, love, and energy into our lives. Through them, we've learned how deeply rewarding parenthood is, and we feel called to grow our family through adoption. This isn’t a second choice — it’s a meaningful and intentional decision that we’ve made with full hearts. Our children are excited about welcoming a new sibling and already talk about him/her. Our home is filled with laughter, love, and support, and we’re eager to share that with another child.

Family & Home

We live in a welcoming, family-oriented suburb in the Twin Cities metro area. Our four-bedroom home has plenty of space for play, rest, and time together — it’s a place where we’ve built years of happy memories, and we’re excited to welcome another child into it.

Meghan’s parents, aunt, and uncle live in our neighborhood, and her siblings and their families are only a short drive away. We see them often for dinners, holidays, and casual visits — family is a big part of our lives, and our kids love growing up surrounded by their extended family.

Our neighborhood is quiet and safe, with friendly neighbors.  We’re close to a park, nature trail, and local library — favorite spots we visit regularly as a family. In the summer, we spend most of our time in the backyard, swimming in the pool or relaxing on the porch.

We’re part of an excellent school district that offers both Spanish and Chinese immersion programs. Our son currently attends the Spanish immersion program at the local elementary school, and we love watching him grow as he learns a new language and explores different cultures.

Our family also attends a liberal Catholic church nearby, where we find a welcoming community that supports our values of kindness, inclusion, and service.

How others describe me

Meghan is a patient and caring person who approaches life with a calm and kind demeanor. She’s deeply empathetic, always tuning into the feelings of those around her and offering genuine support. Her nurturing nature creates a warm and loving environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and cared for. Meghan loves going on adventures with her sons and trying new activities together.  She has a quiet strength that brings comfort and reassurance in any situation.

Ross is incredibly smart and quick-witted, always able to bring humor into any situation. He’s hardworking and also deeply loving and devoted to our children. Our boys love playing make-believe, Legos, and reading books with their dad.  His intelligence, combined with his kindness and dedication, makes him an amazing husband and father who brings joy and strength to our family every day.

how we met

How We Met

Advice to Future Child

You are loved unconditionally and deeply.

Your story matters and will be honored with honesty and care.

Adoption is an act of love and courage, never abandonment.

Be yourself—follow your dreams and express your identity freely.

All your feelings are valid, and we will listen and support you.

If it’s healthy, connections with your birth family are welcome.

We will raise you with kindness, honesty, and love.

You are never alone—we will always be here for you.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We are grateful and honored to be on this adoption journey, and we recognize the importance of connections with our child's birth family.  We believe that an open relationship is key to supporting our child's sense of identity and heritage. We will always speak of our child’s birth family with honor as their courage and love are not invisible to us—they are the foundation of our child’s story. We are committed to fostering communication and a positive relationship through letters, photos, visits, and/or other forms of contact based on what feels right for everyone involved.
