All About Scott & Gina

Hi! We’re Gina and Scott—partners in life and love, and now hopeful parents on a journey to grow our family through adoption. We’ve built a home that’s filled with laughter, creativity, and unconditional love. After over a decade together, we’ve created a life that feels grounded and joyful, and we’re ready to share it with a child. We dream of bedtime stories, little footsteps in the hallway, and the everyday magic of parenting. Thank you for taking a moment to learn a little about us—it truly means the world.

Why Adoption?

Adoption has always felt like the right path for us. While our journey to parenthood hasn’t been traditional, it’s been full of love, reflection, and hope. We believe that family is created through love, not just biology. We’re inspired by the strength and selflessness at the heart of adoption, and we feel deeply honored to be considered as future parents. We're ready to welcome a child with open hearts and open arms—and to walk alongside their birth family with respect and care.

Family & Home

We met while working our way through college—both juggling jobs, classes, and big dreams for the future. One day, we crossed paths at work, and honestly... it was love at first sight. There was an instant connection—like we’d known each other forever—and from that moment on, we were inseparable. We haven’t spent more than a week apart since.

Over the years, we’ve built a relationship grounded in love, humor, and unshakable support. We’ve weathered life’s ups and downs side by side, always lifting each other up. Our bond has only grown stronger with time, and we can’t wait to share the life we’ve built with a child—offering them the same deep sense of love, safety, and belonging we’ve found in each other.

Gina says: Scott is calm, steady, and the kind of person who always makes you feel safe. He has this quiet kindness about him—he listens deeply, supports everyone around him, and brings out the best in people. Kids love being around him because he’s both silly and grounded, dependable and gentle.

Scott says: Gina is pure warmth. She’s creative, thoughtful, and has a huge heart—for animals, for people, and for the world. She lights up a room without trying, and there’s something so comforting about the way she cares for others. She’s going to be such a nurturing and fun mom—someone who knows how to make everyday life feel meaningful.

How We Met

We live in a cozy, light-filled home in a quiet and diverse neighborhood in New York City. Our place is warm and peaceful, full of books, art, music, and all the little comforts that make a house feel like home. There’s a park around the corner, great schools nearby, and lots of space to play, learn, and grow.

Our family is small but filled with love. Both of our mothers have passed, and Gina’s brother as well, but our lives are surrounded by close friends who are like family to us. Our circle is supportive, caring, and just as excited as we are to welcome a child into the mix. We can’t wait to see our world through the eyes of a little one and to create new traditions, memories, and moments of joy.

Advice to Future Child

You are already loved more than you can possibly imagine. No matter where life takes you, we will always be your biggest cheerleaders, your safe place, and the steady hands to hold when things feel uncertain.

Be kind to others and even kinder to yourself. Stay curious—about people, ideas, and the world around you. Life is full of adventure, and we can’t wait to explore it with you—whether that means hiking a quiet forest trail, watching the sun rise over the ocean, or trying new foods in a faraway place.

We promise to create a life filled with warmth, wonder, and endless love—and to support you fully as you grow into exactly who you are meant to be.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We believe open adoption is a beautiful and powerful thing. At its heart is a shared love for a child—and we are committed to honoring and nurturing that love. We’re open to communication that feels natural and healthy for everyone involved. We know every adoption story is unique, and we will approach yours with honesty, care, and respect. A child’s story should never be a mystery to them, and we will make sure they grow up knowing how deeply they are loved by everyone in their life.

Favorite Book: The Fifth Element. I love stories that blend adventure, humor, and heart.
Favorite Holiday/Tradition: Our yearly cruise. Being out on the open water, seeing new places, and spending uninterrupted time together always recharges my soul…and the sun is nice after a month of New York winter.
Hobbies/Interests: trail running, hiking, technology, cycling, scuba diving, and planning our next big adventure
Dream Vacation: trekking through Patagonia, followed by stargazing in the Atacama Desert
If I Could Choose a Superpower: Time travel, so I could explore every era and every corner of the world.

Gina

Favorite Book: Jurassic Park. I’ve always been drawn to wonder, science, and wild imagination.
Favorite Holiday/Tradition: Our annual Christmas cruise—it’s a time to relax, disconnect, and discover the world together.
Hobbies/Interests: art, puzzles, scuba diving, supporting animal rescues, and exploring new places (especially markets and museums!)
Dream Vacation: a month in Southeast Asia—scuba diving in Thailand, visiting temples in Cambodia, and eating everything in sight
If I Could Choose a Superpower: talking to animals (especially sea creatures)
