Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We recognize that this decision comes with incredible strength and love, and we have the utmost respect for the thought and care you are putting into this process.
We are a devoted couple from New York, married for two years, and partners for seven. Our relationship is rooted in love, respect, and shared values, and we are eager to extend that foundation into building a family. From the start, we envisioned a home filled with warmth, traditions, and a deep sense of belonging—a home where a child could thrive and be embraced for exactly who they are.
From Sunday dinners with extended family to holiday traditions, and weekend adventures, we aim to provide a life filled with love, laughter, and opportunities to grow and explore. We are committed to creating a space where your child feels safe, cherished, and empowered to be their most authentic self.
We hope this profile gives you a glimpse into who we are and the kind of parents we hope to be. More than anything, we want you to know how much we admire your courage and selflessness. You will always be your child’s mother, and it is important to us that your child grows up knowing and celebrating their adoption story. We are committed to honoring your role in their life and believe in the importance of keeping their connection to you as part of their identity. No matter what you decide, we are here to support you in any way we can and are honored to be part of this journey with you.
Ryan & Teddy
Teddy
I grew up in the suburbs outside of New York City in an Irish-Italian household as the oldest of three children (two younger twin sisters)! After spending a few years in entertainment management, I have spent the past nine years as a senior administrator at a New York City private school. I hold a master's degree from John Jay in Public Policy and Administration and am currently completing my Doctor of Education at Marymount University. For the past fifteen years, I have also volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician at my local ambulance corps. When not volunteering, I love visiting zoos, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. My career offers generous parental leave options, which I plan to take full advantage of to focus on bonding with and caring for your child during those crucial early months. I’m also fortunate to be in a senior leadership position that allows for flexible hours once I return to work, ensuring I can balance my professional responsibilities with being an engaged and present parent.
Ryan
I grew up on Long Island as the middle child of three in a lively and supportive household. From a young age, I was drawn to music, which led me to become a professional opera singer. I have been fortunate to perform around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. I hold a master’s in voice from Purchase College and a master's in musical arts from Yale.
Outside of my career, I love traveling, trying new foods, and discovering unique coffee spots. Family is incredibly important to me, and I cherish the time I spend with loved ones.
As a professional performer, I have the flexibility to set my own schedule, which will allow me to be deeply involved and fully engaged as a parent. This adaptability means I can be there for meaningful moments, big and small, while still sharing my passion for music with the world. I am excited to share my love of music, culture, and exploration with your child in our nurturing and loving home.
We believe in the importance of family and the traditions that bring us closer. Whether it is celebrating holidays, sharing meals, or enjoying everyday moments together, we value the simple joys that make us feel connected and at home.
We believe in appreciating nature, exploring historic sites, and connecting with the world around us. Whether we are walking trails, visiting landmarks, or caring for animals, we find joy in discovering the beauty and stories that nature and history have to offer.
We believe in the power of lifelong learning, fostering curiosity, and embracing every opportunity to grow. From exploring diverse cultures to hands-on experiences, we value education as a journey, not a destination.
We love to travel the world, embracing diverse cultures and new experiences. Ryan’s job as a performer takes him across the globe, offering us opportunities to explore unique places, traditions, and cuisines. Each journey enriches our lives, and we cannot wait to share our love for travel and learning with your child, opening their world to endless possibilities.
We cherish the seasons and holidays, weaving family traditions into each. Every fall, we visit the same apple orchard that Teddy went to as a kid — where Teddy also proposed to Ryan — and bake homemade treats for every holiday. Summers bring beach picnics, kite flying, and bike rides in Provincetown, MA. Winters mean a Christmas tree and family gatherings. These traditions ground us in love, connection, and the joy of every season, and we plan to include your child in all of these special moments, creating new memories together as a family.
We live in a cozy two-bedroom apartment in the suburbs, thirty minutes outside of New York City. With a harbor, several parks, a movie theater, restaurants, and shops within walking distance, it is the perfect place to start a new family. Our community is vibrant and welcoming, offering countless opportunities for a child to grow and thrive. There is a library just a short walk from our home, and the area hosts many family-friendly events, such as block parties and movie nights under the stars, which we would love to share with your child. Since Teddy works at a private school, your child would have the opportunity to attend from Pre-K through Grade 12, ensuring access to an excellent education. We also have a network of friends nearby with young children, some of whom are adopted, providing a wonderful community of support and connection.
Teddy’s family—Mom (Beth), Dad (Ted), and twin sisters Megan and Samantha—are incredibly close and supportive. Living locally, they are a big part of our lives, always showing up with love and encouragement. They are overjoyed about the adoption process, eager to welcome your baby into the family and create special memories together. Their excitement means the world to us as we take this next step.
Ryan’s family—Mom (Michelle), Dad (Donald), brother (Don), and sister (Jammie) live just under an hour away and they are all so looking forward to welcoming a new member to the family. My parents, while divorced, have come to a point in their relationship where they are very close friends, and enjoy time together almost every day. My brother, sister, and I all love to play games together, tease each other, and play with our mom’s three dogs!
Our friends are a huge part of our lives. Teddy’s best friend, Amanda, has been by his side since kindergarten. Ryan’s best friend, Soraya, has been in his life since middle school. We have also built incredible friendships through opera and EMS. We cherish these relationships and see our friends nearly every weekend; sharing laughs and memories.
“Ryan” by Teddy: Ryan is my favorite person in the world. He is incredibly creative, talented, and always brimming with ideas that make life more exciting. His sense of humor can light up any room, and he has a knack for making even mundane moments unforgettable. His joy, humor, and spontaneity balance my more structured approach. Ryan’s love for exploring cultures and trying new things has expanded my world in ways I never imagined. I know he will make an amazing dad because he has an incredible ability to connect with people, especially children, with his warmth, curiosity, and sense of fun. Your child will feel so loved and supported by him as a father. I am so incredibly lucky to have him!
“Teddy” by Ryan: Teddy is my other half— in almost every way you could imagine. He is the smartest person I know, the most organized, and his bright smile lights up every room he enters! He is thoughtful and loving. Whether it comes to planning surprise date nights, or a snack for a long car ride, he never forgets to think about how to make me happy. I know this
thoughtfulness and care will make him a wonderful dad. His ability to bring joy to everyone he meets is one of his greatest strengths, and I have no doubt that your child will feel so loved and supported by him. I love him so much, and I am so lucky to have found him.
We first met in college back in 2012—Teddy was the stage manager for an opera Ryan was performing in. Funny enough, Teddy had a crush on Ryan at the time, but Ryan was completely oblivious and barely even noticed him. It was not until 2017 that we actually connected when Teddy finally worked up the courage to ask Ryan out. We like to joke that our first date never ended because, from that night on, we have been inseparable.
We have been through it all together, including long-distance stretches while Ryan’s work took him to Chicago and Europe. Those times were not always easy, but they showed us that no matter where your journey takes you, it will always bring you back home.
We got engaged in 2020, married in 2022, and our relationship has always been grounded in love, honesty, and mutual support. Now, we are so excited to grow our family and create a home that is full of care, laughter, and opportunities for new adventures. We hope you will be a part of our journey!
Thank you!
We appreciate you taking the time to learn about us. We hope this glimpse into our lives, values, and traditions shows the love, care, and support we are eager to share with your child should we be lucky enough to be chosen. Becoming parents is a dream we hold close to our hearts, and we are honored that you are considering us.
We promise to provide a warm, nurturing, and joyful home filled with laughter, learning, and unconditional love. As part of our childcare plans, we both plan to take parental leave to ensure we are fully present with additional support from our nearby family. We are happy to answer any questions you may have, talk about what kind of life you envision for your child, and discuss how we can build a connection with you and your child in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful. Your strength inspires us, and we are deeply grateful for your consideration.
