All About Brent & Jenifer

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us! We are Brent and Jenifer from Atlanta, Georgia and we can’t wait to become parents. We have been together for 10 years, and look forward to what the future holds for our family. We live in a quiet neighborhood in the inner suburbs and updated the home ourselves after moving in. We have a super cute labradoodle named Jack. Jenifer is an accountant and loves the new things she is always learning. Brent work’s in foodservice and loves the fast-paced environment and making people’s day.

We live just outside of the city in a quiet neighborhood with our adorable Labradoodle, Jack. Jenifer loves growing fresh fruits and vegetables in our outdoor garden while Brent enjoys being outdoors, whether it be making dinner on the grill or playing sports in the backyard. We love having family over on the weekends and we often spend afternoons in our backyard eating, laughing, and playing yard games. Our dog Jack always likes to run and play with our guests, and we look forward to the day that our child can join in the fun too!

Why Adoption?

We’ve always known we wanted to be parents, but it isn’t possible for us to conceive. When we learned about open adoption, we knew it was the best option for growing our family. Openness with our child about adoption will lead to greater happiness throughout their life and allow them and us to have a relationship with you!

We look forward to becoming parents and will support our child in their interests and love them unconditionally no matter what. Jenifer can’t wait to teach baking and reading and a million other things. Brent loves being outdoors and looks forward to playing sports, blowing bubbles, and building tree houses in the backyard with our child.

Family & Home

We live in a family-oriented neighborhood in a single-family home about 20 minutes outside of Atlanta. Parks and schools are close by and shops, grocery stores, and restaurants are everywhere. Children playing, pets running around, and people exercising are all common. We love our little slice of heaven!
We both have wonderful parents who are very excited that we have decided on adoption to grow our family. They have expressed a strong desire to be a regular part of our child’s life. They are both nearby, so it will be easy to make that happen! Siblings, nieces, and nephews are also excited to be a regular part of our expanded family.
Family is very important to us and we spend holidays alternating between our families, sometimes seeing both on the same day! Sometimes we sleep over even though everyone is close by. Our child will have a close relationship with all parts of our families.

How others describe me

Jenifer by Brent: Jenifer is the kindest, most inclusive person I have ever come across. Her acceptance of others and her empathy is tops and pure. She is also very smart. She can teach herself anything and if I don’t know something, she can teach me too. She is extremely thoughtful, considerate, and supportive in our relationship. Her love is unconditional and she is always striving to make our home a warm and welcoming place to be. She is a terrific cook and can also tackle home improvement projects. Sometimes both on the same day!
Brent by Jenifer: Brent is the sweetest, most caring, and loving man I have ever met. I wake up every day and feel so grateful that we somehow found each other. He’s always optimistic and looking for ways to make our life even better. Brent is always there for me regardless of what is going on and always happy to listen. He is an amazing husband and I know he will make an amazing father. When I see him with our niece and nephews, I just know he was born to be a Dad.

How We Met

We first met in 2011 when we were working in a restaurant together. It wasn’t long before our friendship turned into a loving relationship and we found that we were the perfect fit for each other. We are now married and live with our Labradoodle, Jack, in our house in Smyrna, Georgia.

Advice to Future Child

First, you should know that you will be supported. We are going to have such a wonderful time learning and growing together. Get ready to take some terrific hikes and learn how to play tennis. Mom will teach you to cook and introduce you to music from the past to the present. Dad will teach you how to play tennis, golf, and the joys of being outdoors. Be ready to pack a bag, because family gatherings, especially around the holidays, are commonplace. We also love to travel - Some simple beach trips, but also internationally, so that bag will come in handy there too! Above all, we promise we will love you unconditionally and always be there for you.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We feel strongly that open adoption is the best arrangement for the child and everyone involved. We want our child to grow up knowing where they came from preserving those memories and connections. We feel strongly based on what we have learned that this is the right way to adopt. We want to get to know you too! Hopefully, it will lead to a good relationship. We want you to be included in the child's life too in whatever way is most comfortable.
