All About Cade & Isabel

Greetings!

We are Cade and Isabel, and we cannot wait to meet you. Our 8 years of marriage have been full of adventure, travel, and togetherness, and our Christian faith remains at the center of our relationship. We look forward to providing our child(ren) with the same love, commitment, and opportunities to explore that we’ve enjoyed throughout our marriage.

We reside in northwestern Wisconsin in a mid-size city, where Cade works as a Graphic Designer and Isabel works as an Admissions Director. As a couple, we enjoy travel, hiking, reading, watching movies, going on walks, and hanging out with Phoenix, our 10-year-old cat that we welcomed into our home 2 years ago.

We could not be more ready to grow our family through adoption and share the love and life we have had with a child(ren).

Why Adoption?

We have always wanted children but have struggled with infertility and multiple pregnancy loss during the last several years. Through those experiences, we have become more open to the many ways that families form. Those hard experiences have also deepened our feelings that every child is SO valuable, and we know that our hearts are completely open to loving a child no matter how they come into our lives. Adoption can be a hard process for all involved, but we also believe that it can result in some really beautiful relationships and families.

Family & Home

We live in northwestern Wisconsin in a mid-size city full of outdoor activities, parks, food, and great education. Our home is located in a quiet, family-centered neighborhood blocks away from an elementary school and several parks. Since we bought our home 3 years ago, we have loved completing home projects and turning it into a welcoming environment. With several living spaces, a 3 seasons porch, and a great year, it’s a perfect place for a big family. We love hosting our families and friends for holidays and gatherings throughout the year.

Both of us have extremely close family ties and have large networks of support. Cade’s family consists of his parents, brother, sister-in-law, one nephew, and one niece. He also has very close relationships with his grandparents and cousins. Isabel’s family includes her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 brothers-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, 3 nieces, and 3 nephews. It’s a large, musical family that gathers often, and she considers her siblings to be some of her very best friends. We also have a strong network of friends both in and outside of our city, and everyone in our lives is so excited for us to grow our family and support us.

How others describe me

About Isabel by Cade: “Isabel is a joy to be around. She is just as comfortable hiking up mountains as she is curled up putting a puzzle together. Always wanting to be in the kitchen baking not only for her own happiness but for everyone in her life. She loves to put a smile on people’s faces and bring them together with sweet treats to enjoy. Isabel is so generous with her time and possessions, never giving a second thought if someone needs something more than herself. I can’t wait to see her be a mother and give everything she can to a child.”

About Cade by Isabel: “Cade is my absolute favorite person, and I would spend every second of the day with him if I could. He is intelligent, kind, creative, generous, and makes me laugh every day. He gets along with everybody, and I have always admired the many strong friendships he’s maintained since childhood. He has such a love for children and has earned the little of “favorite uncle” by a few of our nieces and nephews. I could brag about Cade all day long, and I’m so excited to see him in his future role as a father.”

how we met

How We Met

We met in college through our mutual involvement in campus ministry where Cade was the sound guy, and Isabel sang on the worship team. Mutual friends decided that we would be a good match and awkwardly worked hard to set us up. Their matchmaking skills paid off, and we started dating shortly after. We quickly became best friends, got engaged after 1.5 years of dating, and got married in January 2016 after 2 years as a couple.

Advice to Future Child

People are the most important thing that you can invest in. Be kind and generous, and love other people at all times. Material possessions will come and go, but relationships are something that will last forever.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We both believe in the value of open adoption for everyone involved - the child, adoptive family, first family - and hope to maintain an open relationship with our child’s birth family. However, we also understand that birth families may have different preferences with openness, and we are more than willing to work together to find a pathway forward.

We also know that the relationship between a birth family and adoptive family may evolve and change throughout the years, and we are willing to renegotiate as the years pass to make sure any arrangements are still in the best interest of everyone involved.
