Hello, we are Cory & Amanda. Together we love to gather with friends and family. Walking our 8 year old Border Collie (Tucker), hiking, camping, snowboarding, golfing, traveling. We also enjoy the little things like planting herbs and flowers, movie nights and exploring new restaurants.
Cory is a coach of youth football, lacrosse and admires being around children. His favorite hobbies are golfing and snowboarding. Amanda has been a nanny for numerous families ranging from newborn to 12 years old. She enjoys paddle-boarding, reading & snowboarding.
We always knew we wanted to be parents and expand our family, but because of Amanda’s health issues we learned quickly Amanda was not able to carry a child. She received two kidney transplants and the medication changes did not allow her to protect the health of her kidneys. We knew our next step was adoption. Our family & friends are overjoyed with this new journey we are embarking on.
We live in Golden, Co and are surrounded by hilltops and mountains. Our neighborhood is full of families of all different ethnicities, walking distance to trails/parks and close to both sides of the family. We have made life long friendships with our neighbors and feel safe in our community. We both come from loving and supportive families. Cory’s parents (Jamie & Christina) are extremely excited for us to go through the adoption process because Cory's Dad (Jamie) was adopted. Amanda has a younger and older brother who are thrilled to see her become a mom. Amanda’s parents got a divorce when she was younger but has a loving and healthy relationship with her mom.
I don’t know what life was like before meeting Cory. He has made me a better person. He is an amazing husband and partner. He is loyal and honest. He thrives to make people happy. There isn't a day that goes by that he doesn’t put me first. He loves hard, doesn’t take life for granted and never doubts me. He is compassionate and truly a gift to me and my family. I have watched him become an uncle and I can’t wait to see him become a father one day.
I absolutely adore my wife. She is my anchor during stormy seas. She inspires me to be better every single day and always has my best interests in mind in all situations. She goes out of her way to take care of others— especially her little nephews. I love the love she has for her family and I cannot wait to see the mother she becomes.
We originally met in highschool but it wasn't until years after when we reconnected. Cory was attending CSU and Amanda was attending RRCC. We both had a full load of classes but managed to make time for each other. We were together for four years before Cory proposed at Copper Mountain surrounded by our closest friends. Both families were thrilled and excited for this new chapter. We knew since we met, we both wanted children and couldn’t wait to expand our family.
Know that you are loved and we will go out of our way to make sure you are taken care of. We know there will be tough roads ahead and we will be there every step of the way. We will support you with decision making, teach by example and the importance of family and positively encourage you as you grow and develop. We want the best for you and we will give you nothing but the best in all endeavors.
We both thrive on relationships with our families and enjoy being around them as much as we can. We want an open adoption, but also want everyone to feel comfortable and respected. We want our future child to know every aspect of his/her life and have healthy relationships with all families. We want our child to feel supported, loved and comfortable.
