Our family is dedicated to love, learning, and fun. We are focused on cultivating a safe, playful, active, culturally diverse, and intellectually stimulating environment for children to grow.
Along with our two children, our family enjoys building forts, swimming in the pool, and playing music with our supportive, racially diverse extended family.
Our family has strong ties to foster care and adoption. Lauren grew up in a family that helped raise foster children, David’s best friend was a foster child, and their children’s cousins are adopted.
We have always wanted to build a big, loving family through adoption. We have open arms and hearts to welcome one or two children who are four years old or younger of any gender, race, or ethnicity.
We chose our homestead in the suburbs on nine acres of woods and marsh as a place to nourish children through exploration and nature. With one of the best public schools in the state and only a 20-minute drive to Minneapolis, we are focused on cultivating a safe, playful, active, culturally diverse, and intellectually stimulating environment for children to grow.
David describes Lauren as very loving, passionately devoted to our children and puts their interests above everything, active, positive, civically minded, and interested in engagement with the community.
Lauren describes David as hardworking, thoughtful, enjoys exploring all sides of an issue, motivated, bookish, handsome, and calm.
David and Lauren met in Washington, D.C. while both working in public service.
We like to have as much fun as possible. As your older brother puts it “Fun happens when you are moving your body and even when you are sitting still. Fun happens everywhere!” We take care of each other, our neighbors, and the plants and animals. We will help you be whatever it is you want to be. We will love you forever.
Our nephew is adopted through a healthy, loving open adoption. The benefits of open adoption are clear and we look forward to adoption of any kind.
