All About Lee & Hanna

We’ve been together for over 13 years. Three things have stayed the same: family, friends, and our faith. We have a wonderful family who always supports us. Our friends are close, and many have been with us since we were kids. Many in our family and friends were adopted or have adopted children. It is important to us that our child will know others who are adopted. Our relationship with the Lord means everything to us. We promise to provide a loving, faith-filled home for a child, making sure they feel loved and supported every step of the way.

Ellie is our 5-year-old toy poodle. She's fantastic with kids, incredibly friendly, and always up for a snuggle. One of her favorite activities is visiting Petco to pick out new treats and toys. Ellie is a bundle of love and sweetness.

Why Adoption?

In October 2014, I started following a new blogger. She already had two biological kids but was adopting a child. This made me see adoption in a new way, as a beautiful, intentional choice. As I learned more about her story, I wanted to adopt too. From then on, we knew we would adopt, but we didn’t know when. We wondered if we should try for biological kids first or start the adoption process. We prayed for answers and realized adoption was our path when we were unable to conceive naturally. Adoption has changed how we see family, and we are excited to grow our family with love and purpose through adoption.

Family & Home

Our home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We love the area because we’re close to Hanna’s parents and close to town all while not being too far away from open land to play outside. Our plans are to build a custom home (in the same neighborhood) within the next year.

Hanna’s Family: I come from a great family that really supports each other. I have a fantastic sister. She and her husband have blessed us with three awesome nephews. Our families are super excited about a new family member, especially our nephews—they can't wait to play with him/her.

Lee’s Family: My family is very loving. I have one sister, and she and her husband have 5 kids. They, along with my parents, live close to us, so we get to spend a lot of time together. Everyone is looking forward to showering the new addition with love and making memories together.

ABOUT HANNA BY LEE

Hanna is truly beautiful inside and out. Her pure heart is evident by the way she is so giving and puts others before herself. She is an amazing aunt, sister, and friend and I know she will be an even better mother. Her strong sense of faith, thoughtfulness, bouncing personality, sense of humor, and loving heart make her so special to everyone whose life she touches. Her work ethic is unmatched and she is the driving force behind what we have accomplished as a family. She is my everything and I can’t wait to see her become a mother and share the world with our child.

ABOUT LEE BY HANNA

Lee has the absolute biggest heart. Lee is so patient and compassionate. He’s a hard worker, and taking care of our family is his biggest priority. He is such a wonderful friend to all those around him and incredible with kids. Anytime I see him around our nieces and nephews, it just shows how wonderful he'll be as a dad. I’m so proud to call him my husband!

How We Met

Hanna and I met in college through some friends. I liked her right away, but I didn't think I had a chance. The first night we met, she cooked a meal for our study group, which felt like home to me. Hanna and I started spending more time together, and the attraction really grew one night when a group of us went out together. I was so excited when Hanna decided to join us! Hanna and I talked and laughed all night. It felt like we had been friends for years. From the beginning, I knew Hanna was the one. I even told her roommate that if I had a chance, I’d marry her. We dated for the rest of our college years, and on Christmas Day 2014, I proposed. She later told me that she was so excited that she almost forgot to say yes, but luckily, she did, and we got married on April 9, 2016. We have been building a beautiful life together since.

Advice to Future Child

We promise to love and protect you, providing a safe and happy home filled with family and friends who cherish you. Your dreams and goals will always be supported as we help you reach them. We will honor your story and where you come from, ensuring you always feel connected to your roots. We promise to keep our relationship with The Lord at the foundation of our family and raise you to know Him. You are already loved beyond measure, and we can't wait to welcome you into our family.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We are so humbled that you would consider adoption, one of the hardest and most selfless things a parent can do. Open adoption holds a special place in our hearts because it allows for an ongoing relationship that honors the love and sacrifice of the birth family. We believe in the importance of our child knowing their full story, including where they came from and the immense love their birth family has for them. We are committed to nurturing this relationship with photos and visits.

Our relationship with the Lord is deeply important to us, and we've been praying for you and baby already, even though we don’t know you yet. Most importantly, know that you and your baby are loved beyond measure. Thank you for considering us for this part of your journey. We already feel an immense love for you.

Favorite Holiday/Tradition: Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! I love celebrating it with our extended family - normally in comfy clothes all gathered around a large home cooked meal.
