All About Matt & Lindsay

We are Lindsay and Matt! We live in a north suburb of Chicago. Together we own a children’s performing arts school. Our facility teaches children, theater, dance, tumbling and music. We have 5 children and our youngest 2 children are adopted. We love nothing more than being parents and are very committed to the adoption journey. We have open adoptions with both of our son’s birth mothers and are looking forward to loving another birth mother and child.

Why Adoption?

After having our own biological children, we know we wanted to grow our family through adoption. Lindsay has 2 first cousins who are adopted and their journeys have always inspired us. After adopting 2 children, we have spent a lot of time educating ourselves on adoption, specifically transracial adoption. We are very involved in the adoption community and would love nothing more than to have another wonderful child in our family.

Family & Home

We live in a small neighborhood where our kids attend a K-8th grade school. We are very close with all of our neighbors; they are like family to us! We are surrounded by nature and have a large organic garden which the kids all LOVE! Our family all live within 20 minutes of us (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins) and we are very close.

Matt is a true partner in every way. It has been such a blessing to go on this journey of life with him. He is laid back with a very calming energy for the whole family. He is such a hands-on Dad, not only having fun with the kids but making sure to teach them important morals, values and life lessons. He truly lives in the moment and it is clear that his best moments are when he is with his family. Our marriage thrives parenting together and I feel so lucky every day to have him.

Lindsay is very creative, hardworking and an amazing multitasker. She is truly a wonderful mother to all of our children. Lindsay always makes sure to get individual time with each child daily so they can feel her love one-on-one. Lindsay has a great sense of humor with an absolutely contagious laugh. The kids have picked up this train from her and it's the laughter that helps to create such wonderful memories. Lindsay naturally knows how to make others feel comfortable. She is compassionate and understanding during difficult times, always listening to how others feel while teaching our children to do the same.

How We Met

We met in 2003 on an online dating site. Lindsay refused to post her picture and would only go out when men that were open to meeting her without seeing her picture. Out of all the interactions online- Matt was the only one who wanted to take Lindsay on a first date! We fell in love instantly and have been together for 20 years!

Advice to Future Child

We encourage you to pursue personal passions and to take necessary, but calculated risks, as you work towards your goals and dreams. If and when you fall, we will teach you to persevere, get creative and pick yourself up again. Whatever challenges life puts before you, know that we will always be there to support you and guide you.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We are very passionate about open adoption and have open adoptions with both of our son’s birth mothers. They are truly part of our family! It is our greatest pleasure to share your child’s milestones and dreams with you. Our hope is to surround your child with as much love as possible near and far.
