All About Michael & Jordan

First of all, let us say thank you for taking the time to look through our profile. While we are not capable of truly understanding what you may be feeling at this moment, we feel honored that you would take time to learn more about us and consider us as parents for your child. We know that you will make the best decision you can for them, and whether or not you select us, we wish you courage, strength, and peace as you navigate the path ahead of you.
We are Mike and Jordan, we’ve been married since 2015 and have known for a long time that we want to be dads. We both are blessed to come from large families with lots of siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and are excited to continue growing our family with children of our own. We also have a big, vibrant community of friends in our lives, who we’re happy to share our love and our time with. We know that we have a big support network when it comes to building our family; as they say, it takes a village to raise a child.

Why Adoption?

We’ve both known for a long time that we want to be dads. While there are a few different avenues we can pursue to realize that dream, we’ve always felt drawn to adoption. We recognize that there are a lot of children out there who need safe, loving, and supportive homes and we are excited for the opportunity to create such a place.

Family & Home

We live in a beautiful, quiet, and safe town in Northeast Ohio with lots of other families in our neighborhood. In our home we have plenty of space, inside and outside, to run and play, or to spend a quiet moment together. We have so many great places and opportunities in our community like parks, playgrounds, libraries, museums, cultural festivals and theaters, that we can’t wait to share with our kids.
We both come from big, loving families who are constant pillars of support for us. While several of our siblings are spread across the country, we have a solid group of parents, cousins, aunts, and uncles who live nearby and can always be counted on for a fun time and a helping hand.

How others describe me

Michael (according to Jordan): What can I say about this adorable man that I am so lucky to have in my life? He is incredibly patient, which makes him an excellent observer of Nature (as well as pretty darn good at puzzles); he comes from the most incredibly fun family; and he certainly loves to eat (which is good as I love to cook).

Jordan (according to Michael): My life is full of love, light, and laughter, all thanks to Jordan; I couldn’t ask for a more caring, supportive, and fun husband. Jordan approaches life with a playful attitude and a steady heart; he’s already a great brother, uncle, husband, and friend, so I know he’ll make an amazing dad too.

how we met

How We Met

We met in 2011 and bonded over board games, anime, and hikes in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, where we would later be married. It was amazing how well our families got along, and how quickly we were each welcomed into the other’s. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by the love and support of our family and friends.

Advice to Future Child

Your story is your own, and it will be celebrated every day of your life. As your dads, we will do our best to envelop you with love and give you the support and safety you need to grow and flourish into the person you are meant to be. No matter the person you become, you will always be a part of our family and will always have our love.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

Adoption will always be a part of our child’s story, and fostering a healthy relationship with our birth family is an important part of that story. While we do not yet know all the details about what an “open adoption” will mean, we expect that each open adoption structure is unique and we remain committed to working with the biological family of our child to figure out what is best.
