All About Steven & Treasure

Steven: Becoming a father is my deepest desire. I envision a future filled with Sunday football games, playful afternoons at the park, and cheering loudly at little league games or dance recitals. I'm ready to be there for every step, guiding and loving unconditionally. Occupation: My work allows me to connect with people and make a difference every day. Hobbies: I’m an outdoors enthusiast and a sports fan – football season is my favorite. Best Attributes: My special ability to connect with children and my unwavering support for family.

Treasure: I always knew my calling was to be a mom. While life threw us a curveball and we’ve faced the challenges of infertility, my heart has never wavered from the dream of nurturing a child. My days are filled with thoughts of story times, Disney movie marathons, and endless cuddles in a nursery that's missing just one thing – the laughter and joy of a baby. Occupation: I am employed at a call center specializing in financial services. Hobbies: My passions are sewing and finding treasures at thrift stores. Best Attributes: My heart is my guide – it’s full of compassion, resilience, and endless love.

Why Adoption?

Adoption is a bridge to fulfilling our dreams of becoming parents. It’s a journey we respect deeply, filled with courage and love. We feel a profound connection to this path and we're ready to welcome a child with open hearts. We believe blood does not make you family and love does. We want to give a baby the best life possible with lots of love, laughter and adventures. The adoption of a baby will make our family complete.

Family & Home

We live in a rural area, on a lot of 5 acres of wooded area. The house has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The house has 2 oversized porches. When you look outside the windows, you will see lots of wildlife looking back at you. The neighborhood is very diverse with different types of families of all ages. We are very close to our families. Steven's parents recently moved to Florida. We enjoy traveling to see them and spending a week at a time with them. When Treasure’s Dad passed away we moved in with her Mom to keep her company. Treasure’s brother lives down the mountain. Steven’s brother and sister-in-law live in California. We get to see our extended families during the holidays. We gather to have holiday meals and exchange gifts.

How others describe me

Treasure describes Steven as shy until you get to know him. He is my perfect half. He is very caring. He can read me like a book. He knows if there is something wrong and encourages me to open up. He is supportive of all my endeavors.

Steven describes Treasure as loving and compassionate. She is going to make a great mom. We fit together as yin and yang. His weakness is her strength, and vice versa.

How We Met

We met in 2005 at a country concert. We truly believe fate brought us together. Steven accidently bought three sets of tickets, and thankfully the ticket he chose to keep was in the row behind me. It was pure chance. Steven was very shy, but I knew he was the one. I started talking to him first and we exchanged numbers. We have been listening to music together ever since.

Advice to Future Child

We would want our future child to know that they may now have grown in our bodies but they have grown in our hearts. We have dreamed and prayed for you. You have some many people that love you. We would tell them that their birth parents are the bravest people in the world. They wanted you to have the best life possible. We all want you to know that you were wanted and you're special. That you have all these people who love you and want to see you grow to be the amazing person you are.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

We feel like open adoption is the best of both worlds for the child. It gives the birth parents a choice to be involved in communication with the child. We see it as our family being even bigger. The child will know where they come from, they will have the love and support from their birth family and the adoptive families. We would be open to yearly visits, letters, and pictures. This way, the birth parents can see how the child is thriving.
