All About Todd & Jennifer

Hello!

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us as your child's potential adoptive parents. Your courage and strength are unmeasurable! We cannot imagine the feelings you are experiencing and offer our sincere support. We have been together for nine amazing years and married for five. The foundation of our life together is built around the love of our very supportive families. We have been unsuccessful for years in trying to conceive a baby. Knowing how much we have to give a child and wanting to raise a child together this led our hearts to adoption, which is a true blessing.  We would like to give you a glimpse of how much love, laughter, encouragement, and stability we can provide for a baby.  We also hope you feel just how excited we are to become parents and to welcome a child into our home. Additionally, we would love to get to know you better. Thank you for considering us.

Why Adoption?

Adoption has been in our hearts early on in our relationship. We had many conversations about wanting to raise a child together whether naturally or through adoption. After years of trying and unsuccessfully becoming pregnant we began our adoption journey. We believe that we are intended to be parents through the gift of adoption. We have huge open hearts just waiting to share our love and grow our family.

Family & Home

We live in a cozy condo on the sixth floor of a high-rise building. The condo is nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac surrounded by parks, walking trails, playgrounds, and restaurants. We like to get up on Saturday mornings, go for a long walk on one of the trails or parks near our house. When the weather gets warm, we like to pack a picnic and try out a different spot. We have a beautiful pool that we enjoy using during the summer. Our building is very family friendly. We like to buy new pool floats each summer and relax by the pool. Jennifer was in the junior Olympics for swimming. She cannot wait to teach a new child how to swim.

The condo has fun family events throughout the year like cookies with Santa, ice cream pool parties, and movie nights. We're looking forward to turning our guest bedroom into a warm and comforting nursery one day. Our neighborhood is located near one of the best school systems in the state with one of the top elementary schools in our city.  One reason we love living here is the ability to walk to so many things. There are museums, interactive exhibits, dog parks, art galleries, and historical sites.  There's also a zoo and one of the largest aquariums in the world! Todd and I cannot wait to share these fun experiences with a child.

We are fortunate to have incredible families. Jenn's parents have been married for fifty years! Todd's parents have been married for twenty years. They are amazing examples of marriage. We look up to and draw strength from them. They are accepting, loving, and are beyond excited for us to adopt. They cannot wait to be grandparents!  We both have one sister. Jenn has a younger sister named Lisa. Lisa works as a speech pathologist. Todd's sister, Ashley, is married and has four children. She is a math professor at a college. Our sisters play a huge role in our lives. We spend a lot of time together as a family. They will both make terrific aunts who will teach, love, and spoil a child. Our family is very close-knit and serves as a wonderful support system. We speak to our family every day and get together as much as possible. Our family get togethers are full of lots of cooking and spending time together. We look forward to creating new family traditions with a child and making all kinds of new memories.

Our family is warm, loving, and accepting which fosters an atmosphere of stability andMeet Emerson and Grahme! Todd has eleven-year-old twins, Grahme and Emerson, from a previous marriage. They live with their mom in Alabama. We make it a point to spend quality time with them on many weekends, holidays, and during the summer. We also face time with them daily to see how things are going in their lives. Todd's twins have wonderful yet different personalities. Emerson is competitive, athletic, and loves playing on her softball team. She is on the running club at school. Emerson loves animals especially dogs. She hopes to be a veterinarian one day.  Grahme likes playing video games and building things with his hands. Like his sister he likes sports especially basketball and throwing the football around with Todd. Emerson and Grahme think it would be so much fun to teach a brother or sister how to do things like bake cookies, play games, walk the dog, and of course play sports.

How others describe me

Meet Jenn

Jennifer’s outgoing and compassionate personality makes it hard not to love her from the moment you meet her. She values honesty and has a smile that lights up a room. People genuinely love being around her because of her caring, selfless, and supportive nature. She does not hesitate when someone is in need often stopping her own activity to provide support and listen. Jennifer personifies strength and radiates joy as she lives her life striving not only to do her best, but help others be the best versions of themselves. These endearing qualities make Jennifer the perfect public school counselor. Her compassion and empathy allows her to have a major impact in the lives of her students. Jennifer loves being a middle school counselor. She possesses the skill and most of all love to help students navigate through life. She holds a strong work ethic and values education which shines through each day she walks into her school. Jenn loves trying new recipes, especially baking cookies and other desserts for the holidays. She is always open to experiencing new places and traveling, especially to the beach. Like Todd, Jenn also values a healthy lifestyle and knows the importance of staying active. She advocates for taking care of yourself emotionally as well as physically, and you will often find her enjoying yoga or on a Peloton ride. Jennifer truly makes our house a home and has built an amazing life for us. She lives by example modeling the behaviors, she truly values, and any future child may see a true example of a strong, successful, family-oriented person.

Meet Todd

Todd possesses an outgoing, energetic personality and knows how to connect with people making them feel relaxed and welcomed from their first interactions. His ability to bring joy and positivity to others represents one of his most notable qualities. He loves life and genuinely cares about people, especially his family. Todd’s work ethic a has benefitted his career and created financial stability for his family. He holds the title of senior project manager at a large utility company. While incredibly driven in his career, he knows the importance of balancing work and home life. His own father provides a great role model for him. Todd possesses a competitive nature and knows the value of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Todd enjoys being outdoors and stays physically active by playing golf, running, and working out. Todd regularly attends sporting events for a wide variety of different sports. When relaxing at home, he enjoys cooking, playing in the pool, and listening to music especially country and classic rock. He makes great chicken enchiladas and can grill just about anything. Todd has always been a hands-on, involved parent. He works hard to provide financially for his family but takes even more care in being there for his family. When he has his twins, he finds ways to balance fun with responsibility. He has a special way of turning household chores into a fun game and, when needed, disciplines in a positive and caring manner. He loves to be surrounded by family and treasures vacations, especially to the beach. Adding a new child into his life would be wonderful opportunity to share his loving nature.

how we met

How We Met

Todd and I met at a local restaurant in 2014, and instantly connected with each other. We were friends for a while and then our relationship grew into more. After dating for three years, Todd proposed in 2017. We were married six months later with our closest family and friends. We share many of the same interests and goals. Family is one of the most important things in our lives. We cannot wait to welcome a new member to our family!

After trying to conceive and being unsuccessful for years, our hearts led us to embark upon our adoption journey. We both possess an abundance of love to share with a child and consider the gift of adoption a true blessing. We long to share our traditions and love of life with a child and allow them a chance to grow up in a nurturing home filled with joy and opportunities.

Perspectives on Open Adoption

It is important to us to honor the birth mom and respect her.  One of our strengths is communication. We would welcome with open arms the opportunity to meet the birth mom, answer any questions, and be there to support her at her comfort level. We are open to communicating with her after the baby is born whether it is through sending pictures, videos, letters, facetime, and yearly visits.
