Hey there! We’re Trevor and Jamie and we live in Ohio with our daughter, Emerson, and our menagerie of dogs and cats.
We want to thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about our family.
Most of all, thank YOU! Having the courage and wisdom to choose adoption gives hope to adoptive parents like ourselves.
We know that this is a monumental choice for you and want to reassure you that, though we could never understand how truly difficult this decision must be, we hope that it comforting to know that your child will be loved and taken care of by a family who has dreamed of this gift for so long. We promise that they will be raised in a home full of love, understanding, an amazing support system of family and friends, along with plentiful opportunities to learn and grow together.
With love,
Trevor & Jamie
From early in our relationship, we’ve discussed the dream of having a family and children. While there are many routes to family planning, adoption was especially interesting to us. Once we learned more about it, we were all in.
Family, to us, is all about love. Parenting is about unconditional love. We know that our lives will only be better by sharing it with kiddos - helping them to grow and make their way in this world with a foundation of support, encouragement, resilience, and optimism. The opportunity to care for a little one goes beyond a biological relationship. It is an opportunity to be the unwavering, grounding support system they need to reach their dreams with the constant reinforcement that they are loved. Why adoption? Because we have so much love to give any child that we have the privilege to share our lives with.
We bought our house in 2021 …and knew it would be PERFECT to turn into a home to raise a family, which was our #1 priority. There are plenty of bedrooms for not only children, but for one of our favorite things: hosting for the holidays! Our home’s location is stellar and the schools are superb.
Our home is the center of all the action. We love hosting friends and family for cookouts, holidays, special events, birthdays, etc. This team strives to give you an experience when visiting - from each detail planned and a delicious cuisine on the menu to unreasonable hospitality and a whole lot of party jokes to keep you entertained.
A home is not a home without a pet… or 7 to be exact! Didn’t we tell you these two are animal lovers? This home has so much serotonin courtesy of their 5 dogs, Clark - the Blue Heeler, Mogley - the Pug, Piper & Benji - the Miniature Dachshunds, and Poppy - the Weimaraner, along with Stabler & Amaya, the kitty cats! These precious plums are the hits of the house, always welcoming guests and down to play. These loving critters are always down for an adventure around town or in their own backyard. They are so excited for more adventures with another little sibling - hopefully getting a pup cup in the process!
This life wouldn’t be nearly as wonderful without family and friends. Our tight-knit family is sure to talk to each other every day, whether through a phone call, text or a FaceTime if not in person. Our family is lucky enough to be inclusive of those given and chosen. Those closest to us are our family. We take time to touch base and talk through our weeks, our challenges, our hopes and dreams - anything really. We help problem-solve, we reminisce on fun memories, and plan activities to create even more together. We have life-long friends that we are in close contact with, along with friends we’ve made over the last 12 years through various means. Between all of us, there is never a dull moment and always someone to create another memory with. You’ll catch us at someone’s house cooking up something delicious, attending a festival around the city, or on a boat at a nearby lake!
Traditions We Love:
Everyone is as excited as we are to welcome another little one into the family. We couldn’t ask for more love, support, or, of course, offers to babysit! They can’t wait for some quality time with our Itty Bitties.
About Trevor by Jamie:
Trevor is truly the most detail-oriented person I know. Want to entertain? Who better to pull something together, even if last minute, than Trevor? Trev loves using our home to host our friends and family, whipping up a delicious 3+ course meal, and finishing out the night talking/playing games. I can’t wait to see him throw our child(ren) parties!
Another word I’d use to describe Trevor: curious - with creating & keeping a home, he loves to take on different projects in which he loves figuring out and trying new things. One of my favorite things is seeing his face light up after witnessing him see his finished product come together exactly how he intended! Trevor’s idea of family is: close knit. I’m not one to talk on the phone so it came as quite the shock when I became a member of the audience to so many daily/nightly phone calls between him and his family - I know this will be great when showing our child(ren) support and sense of family! I am thrilled to continue seeing Trevor thrive as a father to another little one!
What Jamie loves about Trevor:
About Jamie by Trevor:
From the very beginning, I knew there was something special about Jamie. It wasn’t long after we met that I began to fall in love with him. I can’t pinpoint the exact quality that pushed me over the edge: his outgoing personality, his ambition to make everyone laugh, maybe his grace and understanding. Either way, I fell hard and keep falling each and every day. Jamie’s ability to keep calm and collected, even in the toughest of situations, truly amazes me. He is always optimistic, no matter the circumstance and that optimism shines a light of hope and is infectious to those around. Jamie’s dedication to our family and friends is unmatched as he always makes me feel loved and safe. He is so considerate and empathetic that with each gathering or special event, he is constantly taking into consideration the backgrounds and interests of those we will be with to ensure they have a personalized experience.
Jamie is so full of wonder and curiosity, which I know will bode well while aiming to give our child(ren) as many opportunities as possible to experience different cultures, cuisines, lifestyles and the world. Jamie’s creative thinking and desire to tailor experiences to the individual tells me that any child that grows up in our home will never be without a story and a laugh. He will pull out all of the stops when it comes to birthday parties, blanket forts, family-fun activities, and parenthood in general. Jamie’s ability to make each and every moment magical comes so naturally to him. We are both very family oriented and have close-knit relationships with our own families and our in-laws. Although they are very different, the love that comes from both sides is truly inspiring and supportive. His parents have become my own; his brothers are some of the most welcoming people I know. To know Jamie is to love him and know he is a wonderful PaPa.

All About Emerson:
We have a beautiful daughter named Emerson. The best word to describe our little, read-headed bundle of joy is SILLY! Emerson enriched our lives in September 2022 at just 6 weeks old. Born in Washington state, we quickly mobilized to meet our precious baby girl just 2 days after being matched. It was the most amazing whirlwind to date, and we loved her before we even met her. Our lives have been forever changed in all of the best ways since becoming her parents. Emerson is curious, sweet, determined, strong, and so loving. She loves to carry on conversations with the cats, pet the puppy dogs, read her books, and play in the playroom with friends and family. She surprises us everyday with a new skill or trick, keeps us on our toes, and her laugh is absolutely infectious! We spend time as a family taking walks, traveling, playing, and watching Bluey. Oh, and LOTS of dancing! We are very thankful for the open adoption we have with Emerson’s birth parents. She is so loved, and we are so grateful to be her parents. We just know that she is going to love being a big sister, and loving having a Bingo to her Bluey.
The past 7+ years have been filled with such joy, excitement, and love. It seems like just yesterday, but it feels as though we've known each other forever. We met in early 2017, moved in together 8 months later, bought a house, and were engaged on our 2-year anniversary. We’ve always said we are the perfect complements to one another and each day it continues to hold true.
After we got engaged, the planning and celebrating began! We were married on April 24, 2020. The day began with a light rain (for good luck), and then the sun came out and the skies cleared. Even though our wedding looked a little different than planned due to the pandemic, it was the most beautiful day surrounded by our immediate family and closest friends. The day was filled with such love and celebration!
The desire to have a family was brought up from the very beginning. It was something we bonded over. We spent so much time talking about our futures and the plans we had for our lives together. Eventually, each decision we made had children in mind. The ongoing discussion was trying to determine the perfect time to start a family. We finally decided that there is no perfect time, but now is the right time - and we couldn’t be more excited!
The world is what you make it of it. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to and live the fullest life possible by following your dreams and leaning into your passions. Own your power, lead with compassion and tolerance, and always remember to tell your loved ones how much you love them.
While we will always put our children’s health and wellbeing first, we believe it is important for any child to know where they came from and be given the opportunity to connect with their roots. We believe that there is never a limit on the amount of love and healthy relationships someone should have in their lives - the more, the merrier. We currently have an open adoption with our daughter’s birth parents, and it is wonderful to connect with them and share our love for our little one.
